ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! When you first walk in it gives off haunted house vibes, but the memorabilia and overall theme is amazing. The chocolate is so delicious and it is made right there in house! There are samples as you walk in and it is so good! My favorite was the dark espresso chocolate. Highly recommend as a tourist pit stop! We got dark chocolate espresso, white mint oreo, white chocolate strawberry, pistachio brittle, and a giant lollipop!

Tom’s Candy is one of those unexpected delights when you’re driving in the middle of no where and come across something wonderful. Not only did the current owners preserve the history of the old school house, but they still use the recipes passed on from decades! The fudge is out of this world which you’ll be able to try for yourself with the free samples they pass out. Make sure to check this spot out if you’re in Ellison Bay.

We have been visiting Uncle Tom’s Candy Store since our kids were little in the 80s. It is such a special place! It’s a bit hidden in the middle of the northern end of the peninsula, but not hard to get to, and well worth the time! You can still see the wonderful memorabilia from Uncle Tom’s life on the walls of the store, as well as lots of Americana. But even more important and impressive is the recreation of the candy recipes! Their different chocolate barks are absolutely decadent and a treat for your senses. Their pancake mixes are wonderful—especially the sweet vanilla cream! And of course wonderful owners who are passionate about carrying on the tradition and a joy to visit with, just like in decades earlier. I hope you take this little trip to visit some of the best candy makers in the Door!

We have had this chocolate many times and we really like it. When we were there last, they didn't have much stock. We were able to find a couple kinds we like so that was ok. My mom bought some caramels and they were so hard she had to spit it out. She was afraid she would break her teeth! Not sure if it was how it was packaged or if it was old.

Uncle Tom’s is a must stop when you are in Door County. It’s great for kids and adults. Dr. Mueller and his family are always so kind and welcoming and will bend over backwards to provide you with the local hospitality Door County is known for. I couldn’t believe the owners make all of the candy right in the store. The location is only a short drive from Sister Bay and easy stop when headed to Washington Island. We always get some bright and fudge for the ferry ride but somehow it’s always gone before the ride back. I also love to look at all the old police and fire patches in the store. This place is a time capsule of generations past and it’s so neat that it’s located in an actual old school house. Thanks for giving me and my family memories for a lifetime.

Such a neat store found off the beaten path! The fact that it is in an old school house is amazing. There is a huge selection of gifts and treats. The customer service is excellent. Ryan was very helpful in putting an order aside for me. My husband and I drove two hours from one get it. We love the store, especially the dark chocolate cashew brittle and caramel sea salt candies! Yum!
