Me and my husband had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Samir Shirodkar. My husband went to him with significant pain in his private area, and he was assured that it was nothing serious and would resolve on its own. Unfortunately, his condition worsened rapidly, and within days, he required emergency surgery and suffered a permanent loss. Had Dr. Shirodkar taken the situation more seriously and intervened earlier, it could have prevented severe pain and the loss. I would not recommend him to anyone looking for a thorough and attentive urologist.

Shirodkar never ran proper tests to diagnose my husband's bladder cancer. Only called it a urinary tract infection for over a year and continuously prescribed antibiotics. He should know blood and blood clots in the urine is the # 1 sign of bladder cancer. It was only after our primary care doctor ran further tests that we then forwarded to Shirodkar, that he did further tests including ultrasound, MRI, and scope. Even after dx of muscle invasive bladder cancer he only advised radiation that he planned to direct the treatment of. Further, he was very evasive with communication.
Instead, my husband went to MD Anderson who advised radiation was not recommended at all. It would have caused irreparable damage and not allowed for further life saving treatment. Future testing at MD Anderson resulted in treatment of chemotherapy, and removal of his bladder and prostate. Yes, Shirodkar did not even check his prostate. It also contained cancer tumors. He only said radiation to tumor in bladder. My husband now has an ileostomy bag for expelling urine, for his life.
In my opinion, my husband would not have survived if he had remained under the care of Shirodkar.

The office staff lie to you. Dr. Doesn't follow up on test results. Had me on prophylactic antibiotics. I ran out before my next scheduled appt. He would not refill unless I scheduled appt. with his NP.
