New patient to Dr. Suarez’s office and I was very pleased with the care I received. The medical assistant was pleasant and Dr. Suarez was thorough and patient. I didn’t feel that I was being rushed out.

When I go see a Doctor, being one myself, I never judge by the cover. I never let them know that I am a doctor myself. I only evaluate what is important. How fast or slow he is is the least of your worries.
His amazing knowledge is the only reason why he's my Doctor.

The reviews saying that Dr. Suarez is unorthodox and that he initiates "interesting" conversation are certainly true. I just left my first appointment at his office and when he came into the room to see me, he asked about my medical history. I told him that I have been diagnosed with ADHD. This sparked a whole spiel on how ADHD is made up and not a real condition because it didn't exist before 1950 and that it's just a symptom of too much TV. He told me I should just focus and if I try, I can just get over it. He also said he could "cure" my ADHD and his suggestion for a cure was to "read a book" because reading requires focus and time.

He then decided take 85% of the remaining time in my initial visit (the first time he's ever met me) to discuss politics; mostly, he seemed to claim that every major advancement in our society can be attributed to a world war and no progress can be made without war.

Lastly, when he talked about my over-all health and said I look healthy just at first glance (and how most people my age are experiencing health issues younger than ever before and they're doing it to themselves but "it doesn't look like you have that issue because you'd need to be about 40lbs heavier for that to be a concern.") I told him that I eat healthily and told him that I am a vegetarian which made him scoff. He proceeded to say that there are so many issues with being vegetarian and pointed to his canine teeth and said "See these canines? These are for tearing meat. We're hunter gatherers and we were made to eat meat." And to my astonishment gnashed his teeth a few times for good measure to show me just how our canines and incisors are supposed to be used to chew meat.

Overall, this visit made me incredibly uncomfortable and concerned about the validity of the work of Dr. Suarez.

I was born with a rather unique genetic disorder that Dr Suarez was very excited to study. He is probably a tested and documented genius (as are all of his friends/referrals) He thinks way outside the box to help his patients, many of whom, like me, have been accepting 'common wisdom from the medical community' without nearly as much passion or interest. I could go on at length, but as someone who works in healthcare when someone I care about asks for a Dr I send them to Dr. Suarez. If he cant help he knows who can.

My husband and I are new patients with Dr Suarez. He seems to be very knowledgeable and thorough; however, he is chronically late. So far, we have had 4 appointments with him - each time he averages about an hour late. In fact, I am waiting with my husband now for his 11:30am appointment and it's 12:45pm (and counting) and we still have not seen Dr Suarez. He may be a great doctor, but he needs to be more considerate of his patients' time. Most of us have to take time off from work for these appointments - he may need to consider hiring help or not accepting additional patients.

Additionally, during our first appointment he got very comfortable - used alot of profanity and talked politics and race, which was unprofessional.

We will certainly be searching for a new Primary Care Physician.

Important things to note about this office:

The Doctor is unorthodox but I don't question his knowledge. I respect him regardless.

I do however, have to criticize the staff namely whoever the nurse that works there and hides behind the counter.

I simply need my prescription to be filled periodically and the nurse made a grammatical and technical error in how the prescription was written (if you work in the medical field, you know how amy tiny difference will change the outcome dramatically). That is the whole problem that will unfold.

She wrote my prescription wrong.
From $10 prescription, to $130.

My insurance didn't cover it because of technicalities. So I called the insurance.
They say that I am covered, but its HOW the Doctor wrote the prescription (practically the Nurse) that it's not covered.

So I call the Doctors office to get this fixed. And just like someone else said in the reviews, they never answer, they never call you back, doesn't matter if you leave a voicemail. Months could pass and they wont call you back.

I had no choice but to pay $130 for something I could pay $10.
So I got sick of it and because they didn't answer the phone, my wife and my mom were kind enough to help out since Im always working to cover their bills.
(To think that it lead to this is beyond me)

They go in to simply ask them to call me and the staff eventually gave them an attitude. They argued that they cant change my prescription because the Doctor could lose his license (understandable). They argued that I havent seen the Doctor in a long time (well obviously). We argue that they dont answer the phone. Making an appointment is not even an option because they don't answer or call back. My wife and my mom had recordings of the many attempts we tried calling, and the Nurse just stepped away and the staff tried their best to water down the Nurse's mistakes.

Bottom line, I can't tell the whole story because I wasn't the one that was there but I can confirm that this office is incompetent and that the Nurse messed up and throws nasty facial expressions at people when confronted. (Like some others suggested in the reviews)

They offered me an opportunity to see the Doctor again to fix the prescription.
To which I refused because, for one, I'm not giving them more money for something that could've been avoided with professionalism. And secondly, I had a few days worth of my prescription and time was an important factor.

In conclusion, the Dr may have his pros and cons and I have nothing personal agaisnt him but consider it 'guilty by association'. His staff cost me $260 of 2 prescriptions and neither they nor the insurance wants to take ownership in fixing the problem.

The insurance allegedly cant do a refund.
The Doctor allegedly cant credit me somehow, or see me for free to fix the prescription that they messed up.

Notice that no one wants to fix the problem and we the people get thrown left and right. And they cant say I didn't try. I tried everything within my power to fix this small issue. When its THEM.
They are the "PrOFFeSsioNals"

I'm broke and I got robbed by rich people.
Everyone should be angry at this. Imagine this was to your sick elderly. Being taken advantage of. Luckily I survived but this is a serious matter. Even more serious to people with more serious conditions.

Save yourself the trouble and find yourself another Doctors office.
I've heard people say that Doctors with a bigger office tend to be monitored more and are more professional.
